NAIOP Retail Development of the Year and Renovation of the Year Finalist
McLendon’s first new store in 17 years was a complete renovation of an existing structure with a 4,000 SF tilt-up concrete garden center addition. The store offers a new concept in hardware sales geared toward the popular DIY movement. McLendon values design and encouraged the selection and installation of high-quality materials and details throughout the store.
Shipwreck Beads Corporate Headquarters
NAIOP Industrial Development of the Year
Shipwreck Beads needed to relocate and expand into a facility to accommodate its corporate offices, training classrooms, distribution center, and retail/wholesale store. We designed a 24' clear tilt-up concrete building quadrupling the size of their former facility and including space for future office expansion and the flexibility to convert to more of a distribution center and adapt to changing markets.
Wink Cupcakes boasts a highly efficient space plan featuring a bakery in full view from the street and a retail outlet with a small bar and tables so customers can linger with a coffee and cupcake, while built in shelving provides space for retail needs. The floor is stained concrete to match the exposed painted ceiling and ductwork. Granite countertops, crisp stainless steel and bright white cabinets make up the materials palette as well as splashes of 'Wink Pink'.
