Des Moines Creek Business Park – Phase IV ‘Furney’ is the last phase of a multi building complex located in Des Moines, Washington. The site consists of two, 36’ clear industrial buildings. The “L” shape of the site allowed optimal access from three main streets in the City of Des Moines. Building A is 265,922 sf and Building B is 246,137 sf respectively. Due to the sites locations in the Pacific Ridge Commercial zone, strict design guidelines were enforced that helped shape the layout and design of the buildings. The facades of both buildings have been developed with strong modulation utilizing building setbacks and parapets at the office entries. Entries have been designed with second level glazing to provide flexibility for future mezzanines if desired. Steel accents, formliner and green screens have been used down the length of the buildings to reduce areas of blank wall and enhance the pedestrian experience along public streets. The 36’ clear height provides maximum flexibility and volume which allowed Building A to become the new home for Bartell Drugs Store Support Center which has leased the entirety of the building. The fact that both buildings were fully leased prior to the completion of construction goes to show the quality of the product as a whole.
